Ms. Yulia Anopa, Research Assistant (Dental School) had also worked on air quality and child safety research project at Brunel University London in Scholl Air.
Dr. Ziad Al-Ani, Senior Lecturer (Dental School), was one of the two finalists in the Dental Defense Union's "Teacher of the Year" (2006). The award recognized excellence in dental education. He was again the Dental Defense Union's candidate for the 2007 and 2008 "Dentist Teacher of the Year Award" following nominations made by Manchester Dental School undergraduate students.

Industry Collaborations

• The Data Lab - As one of the latest Innovation Centers in Scotland, The Data Lab facilitates partnerships between businesses with a presence in Scotland and Scottish Universities around the challenges and opportunities of "Big Data."  Glasgow's School of Computing Science hosts one of The Data Lab hubs that represent the breadth of expertise in data science, information processing, machine learning, mathematical modeling and other related knowledge that can be applied to help businesses derive greater value from big data sets, function more effectively with and store data.

PROFESSOR RONALD BAXENDALE, Professor (Life Sciences Human Life Sciences) contributes to postgraduate teaching and facilitates a number of postgraduate research programs. He was especially successful in carrying out research projects abroad, and he maintains research partnerships with graduates after returning home.

Research Accomplishments

• GWSDAT (GroundWater Spatiotemporal Data Analysis Tool) was developed in partnership between researchers at the University of Glasgow and Shell Global Solutions. This easy-to-use interactive software tool enables users to easily process and evaluate groundwater pollution monitoring data, allowing Shell to respond rapidly to identify and assess the impact of a leak or spill.
