Letters of Recommendation (LOR)

• Write a long essay (650 words) from one of the seven prompts on the Common App website.
• Write short essays specific to your field:
• Engineering Applicants: Discuss why you want to study engineering and why at Duke (150 words max).
• Arts & Sciences Applicants: Discuss why Duke is a good fit for you. Mention anything specific about Duke that attracts you (150 words max).
• Optional for All: Share any unique perspectives or experiences that help us understand you better, maybe related to your community, family, or cultural background (250 words max).
