All international students looking to apply to UD undergraduate courses can follow these steps:

Step 1: Apply through the University of Dayton Application or the Common Application. There is no application fee.

Step 2: Submit official secondary transcripts of previously attended secondary schools, with details on dates of attendance, subjects you studied, your grades, and marks on examinations, all in the originally issued language.

You will need to submit a certified English translation for transcripts not issued in English. Also, send in proof of completion in the form of a graduation date listed on the transcript, a diploma, or a certificate of completion. If your secondary school is still in progress, you have to submit the completion certificate before enrollment at the University of Dayton.

Transcripts can be submitted directly from the secondary school to the University of Dayton via:

• Mailed to Office of Recruitment and Admission, University of Dayton, 300 College Park, Dayton, OH 45469-2713
• E-transcript sent to [email protected]
• Emailed to [email protected]

Step 3: Submit proof of English proficiency by submitting TOEFL, IELTS, PTE, DET, SAT or ACT scores as applicable to your chosen programme.

Step 4: Submit an official bank statement and letter of financial support that shows you have a minimum of $69,365. These documents must not be older than 6 months and need to be submitted in your country's currency equaling the necessary amount in USD.

If you are being sponsored by your home country's government or embassy, you will need to submit the official financial guarantee letter. Mail these documents to [email protected]

Step 5: Check your application status at any time via the application portal.

Step 6: UD takes nearly 4-6 weeks to evaluate the applications and mail out offer letters. However, you may have to wait a bit longer for some programmes as their evaluation and review process may take time.

Step 7: Once you get the offer, confirm your enrollment from your account.

All international students looking to apply to UD graduate courses can follow these steps:

Step 1: Submit the graduate application or doctoral application based on the programme of your choice. Students are advised to review admission requirements for their choice of programme at least 4 months before the respective application deadline.

Step 2: Submit other requirements, such as English language proficiency scores, personal statement and financial documents.

Step 3: Submit transcripts from previously attended institutions and credential evaluation. This can be done by:

• Creating an account by visiting https://applications.wes.org/createaccount/login/login
• Selecting the course-by-course evaluation option to ensure that you meet the evaluation requirements for admission review.
• Select the University of Dayton from the drop-down box and add it as a recipient so the institute can get an official copy of your evaluation.

International students need to submit both official and English-translated transcripts. If you have transcripts from a U.S. institution, you should request their official transcripts to be sent to [email protected] or the following address:

Step 4: Complete the Affidavit of Financial Support to ensure you have enough funds for 1 year of study. You can find this form on your Admission Account. 

If you have dependents, you will also need to submit a copy of their passport(s) and additional proof of funding of $3,210 USD per dependent and $5,090 USD for a spouse.

Step 5: UD takes at least 6-8 weeks for the admission evaluation and review process. Students should note that this process may take more time in certain programmes.

Step 6: Once you get the offer, confirm your enrollment from your account

Students will need to submit one of these exam scores directly from the testing centre for admission to the University of Dayton. 

Students do not need to submit English Proficiency scores if they have a bachelor's degree or higher from one of the following:

• US regionally accredited institutions attended within the US.
• An institution with instruction conducted in English from countries such as Australia, Belize, Canada, Ghana, Ireland, New Zealand, Nigeria, or the United Kingdom.

Also, if you are applying for the Master of Finance - STEM, Ph.D. in Theological Studies, Master of Professional Accounting, selected master's program within the School of Education and Health Science, Ph.D in Aerospace Engineering, and the Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, you may need to submit a graduate entrance exam, such as the GRE or GMAT.
