The main campus of the University is the Rutgers–New Brunswick campus, which is often called New Brunswick Campus and is spread over 2688 acres. The campus is dotted with a large number of restaurants and bars. The University also has five smaller campuses in Downtown as well as a few building there too.

From Penn Station (8th Ave and 33rd St), take NJ Transit's Northeast Corridor line (final destination Trenton) to New Brunswick. From New York City, the best way to reach the campus is by road. Rutgers is approx. 58 km from New York, and it should take around 45 minutes. One can also take a bus from Port Authority Terminal in New York City to New Brunswick downtown. The approximate time taken by bus is one hour. The train to New Brunswick leaves regularly. There is a taxi office behind the New Brunswick train station.
