Biomedical Engineering

The Biomedical Engineering program of Ryerson is one of Canada's first stand-alone Biomedical Engineering programs. Through the Department of Electrical, Computer and Biomedical Engineering, the Faculty of Engineering and Architectural Science (FEAS) offers a  four-year program of BEng in Biomedical Engineering. The number of biomedical engineering jobs are anticipated to rise twice as fast as the overall engineering discipline average for a 26.1 percent gain by 2012, according to the U.S.

There is an option for cooperative internship program too wherein one needs to spend a period of 8-16 consecutive months in a work placement after successful enrollment in the program. Co-operative internship enrolment extends the duration of the undergraduate program to five years.

The department also provides: Optional Specialization in Engineering Innovation And Entrepreneurship (OS EIE) covering concepts of economic engineering, entrepreneurship and innovation management, and fresh venture developments based on technology; Optional Management Specialization (OS MS) which covers four key management science fields: Strategic Engineering Management, Operations Management/Operations Research, Finance, and Organizational Behavior.
