Admission Requirements for International Students

Both undergraduates and graduate international students need to take care of these admission requirements at UNT:

    To apply for a bachelor's degree at the University of North Texas, students must have graduated from a high school recognized by their home country's education ministry.

    Official transcripts from each college or university they have attended, in both their native language and English, must be produced by the students.

Note: Students applying to graduate programs must submit their bachelor’s transcript in English. 

Step-by-Step Admission Process

You can follow the below-given steps to apply at the University of North Texas - 

Step 1: Submit The Application Online Via the UNT website

Step 2: All international students are required to pay the application fee of around 85$

Step 3: Submit Your Official Academic Credentials

Step 4: Submit your English proficiency Result

Step 5: Check with the academic department for further application submission deadlines.

Step 6: Provide the statement of Finance and proof of funding documents.

Note: Students who have been admitted can submit their I-20 requests via the iNorthTX portal. International students are not eligible to receive I-20s from UNT until they have been granted full admission, as per federal regulations. 

Please consider that until a student passes the music audition and demonstrates English language proficiency (ELP), the College of Music will not review their file. The above-mentioned program will grant qualified applicants to the College of Music and IELI exclusive admission letters and, if necessary, I-20s.

Following completion of IELI, the student needs to apply to UNT. If accepted, the applicant must meet additional university requirements and pass an audition held by the College of Music. Conditions for conditional admission can be reviewed for the majority of other majors not on the above list.
