Application Process for California Institute of Technology

Step 1: Gather Additional Documents

• Submit all official academic transcripts.
• Provide English Language Proficiency scores.
• Submit SAT or ACT scores.
• Submit the International Financial Aid Statement of Intent.
• Include a copy of your passport.
• Provide English translations of transcripts if necessary.
• Submit teacher evaluations from two secondary school teachers: One evaluation from a math or science teacher. One evaluation from a humanities or social science teacher.
• If you haven't taken a humanities/social science course in your final two years of secondary school, you can replace the required evaluation with another letter from a teacher in a different core subject. It's preferred that evaluations are from your final two years of secondary school.
• Write an essay.
• Answer the required short answer questions: At Caltech, we tackle some of the most challenging problems in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Describe two STEM-related experiences from your high school years, either in or out of the classroom. Explain how these experiences sparked your curiosity and what about them made you want to learn more. (Minimum: 100 words / Maximum: 200 words for each experience)
