    To apply, students must have completed high school. CSU requires first-time freshmen to finish a college preparatory program of 15 units with grades of C- or better. Non-California residents need a GPA of 3.00 or higher in "a-g" subjects, along with other factors considered by the university. Those with a GPA between 2.47 and 2.99 may also be considered based on additional factors like the number of extra courses taken, household income, extracurricular activities, and other relevant information. Required subjects include: - 2 years of social science (including U.S. history) - 4 years of English - 3 years of math (algebra, geometry, and intermediate algebra; 4 years recommended) - 2 years of laboratory science (1 biological and 1 physical) - 2 years of the same foreign language (may be waived with proof of competence) - 1 year of visual and performing arts (art, dance, drama, or music) - 1 year of electives from approved subjects.
