California State University Sacramento, also known as Sac State, offers a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Art History through its College of Arts & Letters. First-time freshman applicants must complete a total of 15 units of college preparatory study with grades of 'C-' or better, which includes: 2 years of social science (including 1 year of U.S. history), 4 years of English, 3 years of math (algebra, geometry, and intermediate algebra; 4 years are recommended), 2 years of laboratory science (1 biological and 1 physical), 2 years of the same foreign language (may be waived for those showing equivalent competence), 1 year of visual and performing arts (art, dance, drama/theater, or music), and 1 year of electives.
