    Eligibility Criteria

    Graduation

    To be eligible for admission, students must have a four-year bachelor's degree. If they do not have a four-year degree, they can qualify with one of the following: a three-year degree plus a master's degree, a two-year bachelor's degree plus a two-year master's degree in the same field, a three-year degree plus an Associate in Chartered Accountancy from India, or a three-year degree plus a postgraduate diploma in a related field that required the three-year degree from AICTE. Applicants must have a degree in Geology or 24 units of upper-division coursework in Geology with a grade of 'C-' or better. The required courses include Physical Geology, Physical Geology Lab, Earth Materials (Rocks and Minerals), Igneous and Metamorphic Petrology, Sedimentology/Stratigraphy, Structural Geology and Tectonics, Field Geology, and Field Techniques. These courses cannot be used as graduate electives by students who do not hold a degree in Geology or an equivalent. Additionally, applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 in upper division Geology courses and must complete two semesters each of inorganic Chemistry, Physics, and Math, all with labs.
