Students need to complete 15 units of college preparatory courses with grades of C- or better. The required courses include: 2 years of social science (including one year of U.S. history), 4 years of English, 3 years of math (recommended 4 years), 2 years of laboratory science (one biological and one physical), 2 years of the same foreign language, 1 year of visual and performing arts (like art or music), and 1 year of electives from approved subjects.
