Students should complete a total of 15 units of college preparatory subjects with grades of C- or better. This includes: 2 years of social science (including 1 year of U.S. history), 4 years of English, 3 years of math (algebra, geometry, and intermediate algebra, with 4 years recommended), 2 years of laboratory science (1 biological and 1 physical), 2 years of the same foreign language (can be waived if equivalent competence is shown), 1 year of visual and performing arts (art, dance, drama, or music), and 1 year of electives from approved courses.
