Bachelor of Social Work at Florida A&M University

Application Process for Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University

Step One: Prepare Documents for Application

• Letters of Recommendation (LOR): You need to submit two letters of recommendation from a teacher and/or counselor as part of your application.
• Essays: Write a 500-word essay that is part of your application. If you are applying for a Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management (HIIM), you must also include a typed autobiographical essay of at least 300-500 words. In this essay, you should answer the following questions: Why do you want to enter the HIIM profession? What life or work experiences have led you to pursue a degree in HIIM? What are your career goals, and how will a bachelor’s degree in HIIM help you achieve those goals?
• Curriculum Vitae (CV): Submit a professional resume if you are applying for the Bachelor of Architecture (BArch).

Step Two: Additional Documents Required

• Undergraduate Application: Submit an official or certified copy of all your secondary and post-secondary records or examination results. If your documents are from non-U.S. institutions, they must be evaluated by a foreign credential evaluation agency.
• Submit all AICE, AP, IB, or CLEP results if you have earned college credit through these programs.
• If your native language is not English, submit official TOEFL and/or IELTS test scores to prove your English proficiency.
• Submit your official GED transcript, if applicable.
• Submit official ACT (code: 0726) and/or Redesigned SAT (code: 5215) results if you are entering as a freshman or sophomore transfer student.
• Include a copy of your passport.
• Complete the International Student Financial Statement.
• For BArch: Include a professional statement and ensure you have a satisfactory portfolio review score.
