BS in Accounting at Florida A&M University

Step One: Prepare Documents for Application

• Letters of Recommendation (LOR): You need to submit two letters of recommendation from a teacher and/or counselor. This is part of your application.
• Essays: Write a 500-word essay as part of your application. If you are applying for a Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management (HIIM), your essay should be a typed autobiographical piece of at least 300-500 words. In your essay, answer these questions: Why do you want to enter the HIIM profession? What life or work experiences have led you to pursue a degree in HIIM? What are your career goals, and how will a bachelor’s degree in HIIM help you achieve those goals?
• CV: Submit a professional resume if you are applying for the Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch).

Step Two: Additional Documents Required

• The Undergraduate Application: Submit an official or certified copy of all your secondary and post-secondary records and examination results. If you have credentials from non-U.S. institutions, they must be evaluated by a foreign credential evaluation agency.
• Submit all AICE, AP, IB, or CLEP results if you have earned college credit through these programs.
• Submit official English proficiency test scores (TOEFL and/or IELTS) if English is not your native language.
• Submit an official GED transcript, if applicable.
• Submit official ACT (code: 0726) and/or Redesigned SAT (code: 5215) results if you are entering as a freshman or sophomore transfer student.
• Provide a copy of your passport.
• Complete the International Student Financial Statement.
• For B.Arch applicants, submit a professional statement and a satisfactory portfolio review score.
