Application Process for Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University

Step One: Prepare Documents for Application

• Letters of Recommendation (LOR): You need two letters of recommendation from a teacher and/or counselor. This is a required part of your application.
• Essays: Write a 500-word essay as part of your application. For the Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management (BS in HIIM): Write a typed autobiographical essay of at least 300-500 words. In your essay, include: Your reasons for wanting to enter the HIIM profession. Your life and work experiences that lead you to pursue a degree in HIIM. Your career goals and how a bachelor’s degree in HIIM will help you achieve those goals.
• Curriculum Vitae (CV): Submit a professional resume if you are applying for the Bachelor of Architecture (BArch).

Step Two: Additional Documents Required

• Undergraduate Application: Submit an official or certified copy of all your secondary and post-secondary records and/or examination results. If you studied at a non-U.S. institution, you must have your credentials evaluated by a foreign credential evaluation agency.
• Submit all AICE, AP, IB, or CLEP results if you have earned college credit through these programs.
• Provide official English proficiency test scores (TOEFL and/or IELTS) if English is not your native language.
• Submit an official GED transcript if applicable.
• Provide official ACT (code: 0726) and/or Redesigned SAT (code: 5215) results if you are entering as a freshman or sophomore transfer student.
• Include a copy of your passport.
• Complete the International Student Financial Statement.
• For B.Arch applicants: Submit a professional statement. Provide a satisfactory portfolio review score.
