BS in Economics at Florida A&M University

Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) offers a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Economics through its School of Business and Industry. Application Process for Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University

Step One: Prepare Documents for Application

• Letters of Recommendation (LOR): You need to submit two letters of recommendation from a teacher and/or counselor. This is part of your application.
• Essays: Write a 500-word essay as part of your application. If you are applying for the Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management (BS in HIIM), you need to write a typed autobiographical essay of at least 300-500 words. This essay should answer the following questions: Why do you want to enter the HIIM profession? What life or work experiences have led you to pursue a degree in HIIM? What are your career goals, and how will a bachelor’s degree in HIIM help you achieve those goals?
• Curriculum Vitae (CV): You need to submit a professional resume if you are applying for the Bachelor of Architecture (BArch).

Step Two: Additional Documents Required

• Undergraduate Application: Fill out and submit the undergraduate application form.
• Official Records: Submit an official or certified copy of all your secondary and post-secondary records and examination results. If your credentials are from non-U.S. institutions, they must be evaluated by a foreign credential evaluation agency.
• AICE, AP, IB, or CLEP Results: Submit all results if you have earned college credit through these programs.
• English Proficiency: If English is not your native language, submit official TOEFL and/or IELTS test scores.
• Official GED Transcript: Submit this if applicable.
• ACT or SAT Results: Submit official ACT [code: 0726] and/or Redesigned SAT [code: 5215] results if you are entering as a freshman or sophomore transfer student.
• Copy of Passport: Include a copy of your passport.
• International Student Financial Statement: Complete this form.
• For BArch: Submit a professional statement and satisfactory portfolio review score.

Step Four: Application Fees

The application fee is USD 35, which is approximately INR 2.95 thousand. You can pay using a credit card. There is also a payment plan option available via iRattler. You can make payments in equal installments either through auto payment or manual payments using the Cashnet payment system. Family members and friends can also help you pay through this method. Please note that this plan requires a $15.00 enrollment fee, and the first payment is due upon enrollment in the plan.
