Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) offers a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Journalism that lasts for four years. The tuition fee for this program is $17,725. Step One: Prepare Documents for Application

Submit two letters of recommendation from teachers and/or counselors. These are part of your application.

Essays

Write a 500-word essay as part of your application. For the Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management (HIIM), include a typed autobiographical essay of 300-500 words. Answer the following questions:

• Why do you want to enter the HIIM profession?
• What life or work experiences lead you to pursue a degree in HIIM?
• What are your career goals, and how will a bachelor’s degree in HIIM help you achieve them?

Curriculum Vitae (CV)

Submit a professional resume if applying for the Bachelor of Architecture (BArch).

Step Two: Additional Documents Required

Complete the undergraduate application.

Submit an official or certified copy of all secondary and post-secondary records and/or examination results. If you have credentials from non-U.S. institutions, they must be evaluated by a foreign credential evaluation agency.

If you have earned college credit through AICE, AP, IB, or CLEP, submit all results from these programs.

If English is not your native language, submit official TOEFL and/or IELTS test scores.

Provide an official GED transcript if applicable.

Submit official ACT (code: 0726) and/or Redesigned SAT (code: 5215) results if you are entering as a freshman or sophomore transfer student.

Include a copy of your passport.

Complete the International Student Financial Statement.

For the Bachelor of Architecture, include a professional statement and a satisfactory portfolio review score.
