Step 1: Prepare Your Documents for Application

• Letters of Recommendation (LOR): Two teacher evaluations are needed. Ask two teachers from different academic subjects who know you well to fill out the Teacher Recommendation forms. These forms include an evaluation and a letter of recommendation.
• Essays: A Personal Essay is required. Essay topics include: Share your story if you have a background, identity, interest, or talent that is so meaningful it completes your application. Discuss a challenge, setback, or failure you faced, its impact on you, and what you learned. Reflect on a time you questioned or challenged a belief or idea. What prompted your thinking and what was the outcome? Talk about something someone did for you that made you happy or thankful in a surprising way. How has this gratitude affected or motivated you? Discuss an accomplishment, event, or realization that led to personal growth and a new understanding of yourself or others. Describe a topic, idea, or concept that captivates you so much that you lose all track of time. Why is it engaging and who or what do you turn to for more information? Submit an essay on any topic of your choice, whether it's one you've already written, a response to a different prompt, or a topic of your own design.

• The supplement includes five short-answer questions, each with a 150-word limit: Describe how your life experiences will help you contribute to Harvard's diverse student body. Briefly describe any extracurricular activities, work experiences, travel, or family responsibilities that have shaped who you are. Explain how you hope to use your Harvard education in the future.
