They should have: 4 years of Language Arts, 3 years of Mathematics (including 1 year of algebra and 1 year covering geometry), 2 years of Writing (1 year in English and 1 year in any course), 2 years of Social Science (including 1 year of U.S. history and 1 semester of civics), 2 years of Science, and 1 year of Electives (which can include art, music, foreign language, or vocational education).
