M.A. in English at Northeastern Illinois University

Northeastern Illinois University (NEIU) offers a Master of Arts (M.A.) in English through its College of Arts and Sciences. • Statement of Goals and Objectives: This should be two to three pages long. It should explain your goals and why you are qualified for graduate study. Include details about specific English courses, papers, and projects you have completed.
• Proof of English Language Proficiency.
• Writing Sample: This should be between 10 to 15 pages long. It should show your critical thinking and research skills and indicate your ability to succeed in advanced study in English Literature or Composition. Preferably, this should be work completed for an upper-division undergraduate course in English or a graduate-level English course. If you cannot provide this, you may ask the Graduate Coordinator for permission to apply.
