Application Process for Rochester Institute of Technology

Step 1: Prepare Documents for Application

You need to gather the following documents:

• Letter of Recommendation (LOR): A letter of recommendation is required.

Step 2: Additional Documents Required

Along with your LOR, you must provide these additional documents:

• Academic documents including transcripts, mark sheets, and degree certificates.
• Proof of English Language Proficiency.
• SAT or ACT scores (optional).
• Portfolio:
• You must submit a portfolio of original artwork if you are applying to programs in the School of Art.
• Include 10-20 pieces of your best work. Your portfolio will be reviewed based on: Pictorial composition. Creativity and originality of ideas. Drawing and design ability. Use of materials. Attention to detail. Craftsmanship.
• You must include at least three samples of drawings made from direct observation (not copied from photos, comics, or fantasy). Use traditional materials like pencil, graphite, charcoal, or ink.
• Other works can include paintings, photography, page layouts, computer images, sculptures, models, fine crafts, mechanical drawings, and more.
• Label all images and documents clearly. Include information such as title, size, media, date, assignment or theme, and any exhibition or award details.

Payment methods include credit card and debit card. You can also choose installment payment plans, which are based on the balance shown in your student account at the time of the request. Payments will be divided over the remaining months of the term. You can enroll in the payment plan each term once the bill for that term is generated.

The application deadline for the Fall semester (August) is:
