Architecture (M.Arch.) at South Dakota State University

South Dakota State University (SDSU) offers a Master of Architecture (M.Arch.) program through its Department of Architecture (DoArch). This program lasts for two years and is designed to equip students with the skills needed for a successful career in architecture. The tuition fee for this program is USD 15,696. Step One: Prepare Documents for Application

Letters of Recommendation (LOR)

Applicants must submit two letters of recommendation unless they have an undergraduate degree from SDSU Architecture. Choose recommenders who know your academic work well. They should discuss your goals mentioned in your personal statement and the quality of your portfolio. Recommenders should send their letters directly to Donna Dunn, Academic Advisor.

Your personal statement should be 500 to 800 words long. It must specify the program you are applying for (2-year or 3-year M.Arch.), explain why you want to study at SDSU Architecture, and share your goals for graduate studies.

Digital Portfolio

Submit a digital portfolio with 10 to 15 pages/slides via email (maximum 15MB). This portfolio should show your creative work. Name the file using this format: program_option_lastname_firstname_portfolio. For example: M.Arch._2-yr_Smith_Jane_Portfolio.pdf.
