UC Berkeley Global offers a one-year Professional Certificate Program in Corporate Finance and Financial Analytics through its College of Continuing Studies. The program has a tuition fee of USD 8,250. To be admitted to this program, students must show their English language skills by taking tests like IELTS or TOEFL. This is a Postgraduate Certificate Program.

Upon finishing two semesters of coursework, you will receive a certificate in Corporate Finance and a second certificate in Financial Analytics.

By completing extra required courses during these two semesters, you can earn a third certificate for a Professional Diploma Program.

Learn the basics of finance as practiced in the United States, focusing on corporate finance. You will work on real cases from current companies to see how a corporation connects with global economics and geopolitics.

Develop advanced skills in financial analytics to review and improve financial strategies using company and market data. You will also learn how to present data effectively to support strategic decisions.

Students will take courses such as:

• Financial Analytics: Financial Statement Analysis, Enterprise Risk Management, and Presenting Quantitative Data Effectively.

Prerequisites for Corporate Finance: Students applying for the Corporate Finance Immersive should have a strong background in basic finance and math.

Prerequisites for Financial Analytics: Students applying for the Financial Analytics Immersive must have completed the Corporate Finance Immersive or be in the process of finishing a recognized Finance certificate or degree.

Students who study for two semesters can apply for Optional Practical Training (OPT).

A Career Development Course is included for both semesters. You will learn how to improve your resume, LinkedIn profile, interview skills, presentation skills, and more.

There is an opportunity for an internship at a company in the San Francisco Bay Area (an additional fee of $3,000 USD applies).

Step One: Prepare Documents for Application

Statement of Purpose (SOP)

Your SOP should be 800 to 1,000 words (1 to 2 pages, single-spaced). Please answer the following questions:

• Background: Discuss your academic, personal, and professional experiences that have prepared you for this challenging program. Mention any successes that may not be clear from your transcript. Include any extracurricular interests or activities you want to pursue at UC Berkeley or in the Bay Area.
• Understanding of the Program: Explain how this program will help you reach your academic, professional, or personal goals. Describe your understanding of the program's requirements and the courses you can apply for as a student. Also, state the name of the program you are applying to.
• Anomalies: If there are any unusual items in your academic transcripts, such as a failed course, a low GPA, or a change in your major, please explain them. If everything is normal, you can skip this section.

Curriculum Vitae (CV)

Your CV should include a complete list of your work experience, duties performed, degrees earned, courses attended, and any other experiences that might interest the academic review committee.
