Students must complete their Year X and Year XII state board or CBSE examinations. Competitive candidates usually achieve high marks, mainly A1 and A2 grades or scores over 80. For California nonresident applicants, a minimum GPA of 3.4 in all A-G or college-preparatory courses is needed for admission. The prerequisites include: - 2 years of history (or your country's history instead of U.S. History) - 4 years of composition and literature in the language of instruction - 3 years (4 years recommended) of college-preparatory mathematics covering elementary and advanced algebra, and two- and three-dimensional geometry. Approved integrated math courses can fulfill this requirement. - 2 years of college-preparatory science, covering two of these subjects: biology, chemistry, or physics. One year of approved interdisciplinary or earth and space sciences can count as one year of this requirement. Computer Science, Engineering, and Applied Science courses can also count as additional science courses. - 2 years of a second language - 1 yearlong course (or 2 semesters) of visual and performing arts - 1 additional course from any of the subject areas above.
