Step One: Prepare Documents for Application

Letters of Recommendation (LOR)

Applicants need to provide two letters of recommendation. It is preferred that both letters come from people in a professional setting. At least one letter should be from a current or former employer, which can be from a full-time job or an internship.

Essays

The application requires three essays that together show the applicant's statement of purpose.

• Essay 1: Describe your first job after your MBA graduation. Include details about your future industry, job title, location, salary, and other aspects of your post-MBA career. Explain how you will use your skills, work experience, and network to achieve your career goals. How will the University of Utah Full-Time MBA help you get that job? Limit your response to 300 words.
• Essay 2: What unique traits would you bring to class discussions and group activities? How would you contribute to the diversity of thought and experience in the classroom? Limit your response to 250 words.
• Essay 3: As a professional, what has been your biggest challenge and how did you overcome it? Limit your response to 250 words.

Curriculum Vitae (CV)

Applicants must submit a business resume that includes their work history and educational achievements. The resume should follow current formatting standards and be limited to one page. It is important to highlight work experience and pay attention to how the resume looks.

Step Two: Additional Documents Required

Applicants must submit an unofficial transcript from each college or university they have attended. The transcripts should be in chronological order, regardless of how long they attended each institution.

Applicants also need to provide unofficial GMAT or GRE scores and English Language Proficiency (ELP) scores.
