Applicants must have a four-year bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university with a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. MAcc applicants need to have completed six out of seven 5000-level accounting courses or their equivalents. If applicants do not meet the overall GPA requirement, the last 60 credit hours (usually two years of coursework) can be considered to meet the requirement.

Application Process for the University of Utah

Step One: Prepare Documents for Application

• SOP: A Statement of Purpose is required.
• LOR: Two Letters of Recommendation are required.
• CV: Applicants must upload a business resume that includes: Employment history in reverse chronological order with titles, dates, and whether the work was part-time or full-time. Educational record in reverse chronological order, including dates of attendance and degrees earned.

• Submit unofficial transcripts that include: Your full name Name of the school Semesters Course numbers and titles Grades Semester GPAs Cumulative GPA
• Official ELP Scores: Required for application.
• Application Questions: There are two required questions and one optional question for the MAcc Program: What are your career goals? What are you currently doing, and what actions will you take in the MAcc Program to achieve your career goals? Why do you feel prepared/qualified to join the MAcc Program at the University of Utah? Optional: The Admissions Committee will consider circumstances that may have affected your GPA. Use this space to explain any weaknesses in your application.
