Step One: Prepare Your Documents for Application

• Letters of Recommendation (LOR): You need to provide three letters of recommendation.

• Official Transcripts: You must submit an official transcript from the school where you earned your bachelor’s degree, as well as transcripts from any other graduate courses or degrees. You do not need to submit a transcript for courses taken at Western Michigan University (WMU).
• Copy of Passport: Include a copy of the identification page of your passport.
• Personal Statement: Write a statement that covers the following: Summarize your academic, professional, research, creative, or scholarly experiences, and explain how these experiences make you a good candidate for graduate study in your chosen program. Discuss how your experiences align with the strengths of the program and faculty, as well as your professional goals, including future job positions. Your statement should be double-spaced and between 500 to 1500 words, showing your communication skills and writing ability.
• Proof of English Language Proficiency: Provide proof that you meet the English language requirements.
• Proof of Funds: Show that you have enough funds for the first academic year at WMU.

• A convenience fee of 2.85% or $3 (whichever is higher) is applied to each credit/debit card transaction.
• A $35 enrollment fee is charged each semester.
• The payment plan allows for four payments per semester for Fall and Spring.
