It has six campuses across the state: North Terrace, Roseworthy College at Roseworthy, The Waite Institute at Urrbrae, Thebarton, National Wine Centre in Adelaide Park Lands.

The main campus of the university is located in North Terrace, in the center of Adelaide, adjacent to South Australia's Art Gallery, the South Australian Museum, and State Library of South Australia. Its sixth campus, the Ngee Ann – Adelaide Education Centre (NAAEC), is in Singapore.

The university has multiple associated and independent research institutes and groups. These include the South Australian Centre for Economic Studies, the Hanson Institute for Medical Research, and the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI).

Adelaide University is made up of five faculties, each comprising of constituent schools.

The University of Adelaide's main campus is on North Terrace. It is bordered by the Art Gallery of South Australia, the State Library of South Australia, the South Australian Museum, and the University of South Australia's "City East" campus. The campus is covered with greenery.  The vast majority of the University's students and staff are based on campus North Terrace, where most courses are taught and schools are based.

On this campus are both the University's central administration and the main library, the Barr Smith Library. Bonython Hall (the University's great hall), Mitchell Building, Elder Hall, Napier Building, and Ligertwood Building form the campus front of the North Terrace Street.  The Schulz building at North Terrace is repurposed as a residential college on campus with accommodation and recreational facilities including a gym.

Residing Options

Students at Adelaide University have access to an impressive portfolio of accommodation options for university-managed students which aim to support a successful transition to university life.

  • list items The University of Adelaide Village -  It is the largest option for student accommodation managed by the University. Fully-furnished 5-bedroom townhouses or 4-bedroom apartments, complete with generous common living spaces, functional bedrooms, enhance the living experience of the Village. The fee for the styled Townhouse and Apartment is about AUD $15,000. All services (including free wireless internet, water, gas and electricity) are included in the accommodation fee.
  • list items Mattanya Student Residences -  Mattanya provides comfortable living and is a 15-minute walk to the North Terrace campus. Students applying for these residences will be allotted a room out of the 4 or 5 bedrooms along with bathrooms and living spaces which will have to be shared with the other students from the university. Its approximate accommodation fee AUD$13,000 includes access to a fully furnished house, unlimited wireless internet and all utilities (i.e. water, gas and electricity). Note: fees listed are for a full calendar year and represent the cost per person.
  • list items Roseworthy Residential College -  This accommodation is only available to rural campus students at the university, located 50 km north of the city campus and offers the benefits of residential living to students. It provides 39 weeks of accommodation charging an approximate fee of AUD $9,000. Its residence halls and furnished houses offer fully furnished private air-conditioned rooms with a free wireless internet connection and fee-included evening meal (Monday through Friday).

Financial Aid to International Students 

Adelaide University offers graduate and postgraduate scholarships. These scholarships are open for prospective and currently enrolled students. Many other scholarships are funded by industry and non-profit organizations. There are postgraduate research scholarships for domestic and international applications as well as travel funding for current students.

There are also international student scholarships along with the Australian government scholarships for those who would like to study undergraduate or postgraduate programs or study abroad program. There are also external scholarships wherein grant opportunities are provided by organizations external to The University of Adelaide.

The University offers a free shuttle bus service including shuttle bus between campuses. Students living at Adelaide Village University also have the option of using a shuttle bus to the North Terrace Campus directly from their accommodation.
