    12th Grade

    To be admitted to Arizona State University (ASU), first-year students must have a minimum GPA of 3.00 (equivalent to a "B" or better on a 4.00 scale) from secondary school. They must have completed three years of high school coursework. If they are still in high school, ASU requires grades from 9 to 11. If they have finished high school, ASU needs grades from 10 to 12. Students must also show a completed high school diploma or certificate. For international students, the following competency requirements must be met: four years of math (including algebra I, geometry, algebra II, and a course that requires algebra II), and three years of laboratory science (one year each in biology, chemistry, earth science, integrated sciences, or physics). The course requirements include: 4 years of math, 4 years of English (non-ESL/ELL), 3 years of lab sciences (1 year each from the accepted science areas), 2 years of social sciences (including 1 year of American history), 2 years of the same second language, and 1 year of fine arts or career and technical education. Additionally, students need to be in the top 25% of their high school graduating class or have a 3.00 GPA in their competency courses.
