This includes broadband Internet access, interconnection technologies, network convergence, and network security.

This special program provides students with the knowledge and skills needed to design and maintain various network infrastructures.

Students can use advanced lab facilities equipped with tools from Cisco, Juniper, and other well-known manufacturers.

They will gain hands-on experience in setting up routers, switches, and firewalls. Students will also learn to secure networks, evaluate and manage network performance, and ensure that networks meet business needs.

By the end of the program, students will be able to:

• Compare different wide-area network (WAN) technologies to meet the needs of enterprise networks.
• Compare and set up internal gateway routing protocols (RIP, OSPF, EIGRP) that help determine data paths in networks with unreliable components.
• Define and allocate IPv4 and IPv6 address subnets to meet network requirements.
• Describe techniques for using multiple backup paths in switched and routed networks.
• Implement firewall technologies to apply an access policy and check its effectiveness.
• Identify and analyze security threats in network setups, suggest solutions, and prioritize action plans.

12th Grade

There is no specific cutoff mentioned for the 12th grade. Applicants must have completed high school. It is strongly recommended that students have: four years of English, three years of mathematics (including Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II), three years of science (with two being lab science), two years of social science, and two years of a language other than English.

Application Process for DePaul University

Step One: Additional Documents Required

• Official Transcripts and/or Secondary School Exams: If your official transcripts or secondary school exam results are not in English, you must provide word-for-word English translations for all pages submitted.
• Proof of English Proficiency: Students applying to the BA Animation program must submit proof of their English skills.
• Creative Statement and Portfolio: Applicants to the BA Animation program need to submit a creative statement and a portfolio. The creative statement should not be an academic essay. It needs to be more personal but still well-presented, free of spelling and grammar mistakes. The statement should be one to one and a half pages long and answer these questions: What are your creative inspirations? Why do you want to study animation? Why are you applying to DePaul University?
• Portfolio: Your portfolio should include one or more of the following: scanned images, photos, videos, and/or stories.
