    12th Grade

    Students must have completed high school with a minimum of 50%. They need to meet these course requirements: 4 years of their native language, 3 years of math (including basic algebra, geometry, and advanced algebra), 3 years of science (with at least 2 years in biology, chemistry, or physics), and 2 years of social studies (3 years for those applying to the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences). Students applying to majors in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences or Engineering must have 2 years of a foreign language (English can count if it is not their native language). Minimum GPA requirements include: 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, 50% on the General Scale, a score of 6 on the India School Certificate scale of 1-9, a B2 on the CBSE/CCE scale, or 61 out of 100 on the National Institute for Open Schooling SSSE. Students must submit official final transcripts and complete the Higher Secondary Certificate or its equivalent before enrolling at Iowa State University.
