North Central College

Overview

North Central College, located in Naperville, Illinois, is a private liberal arts college founded in 1861. It is affiliated with the United Methodist Church. The college's campus covers an area of 65 acres and is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

North Central College serves nearly 3,000 students and offers over 70 undergraduate majors, more than 60 undergraduate minors, and 12 graduate programs. The college has various facilities for students, including a recreational center, gym, auditorium, theater, concert hall, science center, and sports facilities. The curriculum includes intercultural seminars, ethics, leadership courses, and value seminars, which enrich students' educational experience.

The college has partnerships with universities in several countries, including Australia, England, France, Greece, Japan, Kenya, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, and Turkey. It offers group programs abroad in China, Japan, Costa Rica, and England. Students can also engage in individual studies, such as an Honors program, Senior Honors Thesis, and Independent Study Grants. There are options for studying abroad in full-year programs, three-week courses, or full-term programs.

North Central College offers majors in areas such as Theatrical Design, Music, Musical Theatre, and Theatre, along with science majors in Health Sciences, Engineering, and Neuroscience. The college competes in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) and NCAA Division III.

With over 16,500 alumni in the Chicagoland area and more than 30,000 worldwide, North Central College has a strong alumni network. The alumni donor participation rate is 17 percent, which is among the highest in the region.
