Step 1: Prepare Your Documents

Letters of Recommendation (LOR)

To complete your application, you need to submit two letters of recommendation. Ideally, one should be from your current supervisor or manager. The other should be from someone who can assess your professional performance and leadership potential, such as a former supervisor, previous employer, or client. Choose your recommenders carefully, as additional letters are neither required nor encouraged.

Prompt for Recommenders:

• Northwestern values diversity and inclusivity. Can you describe a time when the candidate demonstrated these values? (300 words)
• How does the candidate's performance compare to others in similar roles? Please include specific examples. (300 words)
• What is the most important piece of constructive feedback you've given the candidate? Describe the circumstances and their response. (250 words)

Essays

All applicants must submit the following two essays:

• Question 1 (450 words): Describe a time when you needed a mix of skills to solve a problem or overcome a challenge. What skills did you use and what did you achieve?
• Question 2 (450 words): Explain how your personal and professional experiences will enrich the Kellogg community, which values diverse backgrounds and perspectives.

Additionally, you will need to complete a video essay comprising three questions.

Curriculum Vitae (CV)

Submit a current resume or CV that is similar to one used for job applications but tailored for a general audience. This will be reviewed by people from different backgrounds. In addition to your resume, complete the employment section of the application to provide a detailed understanding of your career history, key job transitions, and promotions.
