Overview

Texas Christian University (TCU) is a well-known private Protestant university situated in Fort Worth, Texas. Established in 1873 by brothers Addison and Randolph Clark, it began as a college aimed at providing education to both men and women. TCU is unique as it has the horned frog as its mascot. Although it is linked to the Disciples of Christ, it operates independently. The university offers a wide range of programs, including undergraduate, master's, and doctoral degrees. The Economist has recognized TCU as having the top MBA program in the world.

The campus covers 295 acres and includes eight colleges and schools, offering a classical liberal arts education. The campus is organized into three main areas: academic, residential, and Worth Hills. An oak-lined street, University Drive, divides the academic and residential sections. The Student Union, residence halls, and Campus Commons are located west of University Drive, while most academic buildings, the library, and the chapel are to the east. The beautiful surroundings with live oaks enhance the university's charm, and the campus provides all necessary facilities for an enriching learning experience.

As of February 2016, TCU had around 10,394 students, with 8,892 being undergraduates. In 2011, the university received over 19,000 applications for about 1,500-1,800 admission spots, resulting in an acceptance rate of approximately 37%. The student-to-faculty ratio is 13:1, and TCU offers 117 undergraduate, 65 master's, and 38 doctoral programs. Business and Journalism/Strategic Communications are the most popular fields of study, making up about 25% and 20% of the undergraduate population, respectively. The university also provides financial aid to support students in their education.

In addition to its academic reputation, TCU boasts a strong alumni network with around 75,000 living graduates. Notable alumni include writer Richard J. Allen, actress Tudi Roche, bestselling author Dan Jenkins, UBS Group Americas CEO Robert J. McCann, billionaire entrepreneur John Davis, and LPGA tour professional Angela Stanford.

Many Indian students choose to study at Texas Christian University due to its excellent academic programs and vibrant campus life. While studying at TCU, students often find it easy to secure part-time jobs. The university is famous for its high-quality education and supportive community. Additionally, students can apply for the MBA program even without work experience, making it accessible for many.
