Overview

United States University is a private, for-profit university that was founded in 1997. It began as an InterAmerican college created by Maria Marin and Reymundo. The university is now owned by Aspen Group, Inc., a publicly traded company based in New York. Originally a non-profit college, it changed its name to United States University in 2010 to match its new status. In December 2017, Aspen Group, Inc. fully acquired the university.

Located in San Diego, the university offers various undergraduate and graduate programs, including Business, Nursing, and Health Sciences. It also provides California Teaching Credentials. To help students manage their education costs, the university offers financial aid options such as payment plans, scholarships, grants, and loans.

In June 2017, the university introduced monthly payment plans for five degree programs, making it easier for students to pay for their education without taking on large amounts of debt. The Financial Services Department focuses on providing financial assistance and tailored services that comply with state and federal regulations. Its main goal is to support eligible students by maximizing the use of available financial resources.

United States University has a diverse student body, with 53% Hispanic, 25% Black, 11% Asian, and 10% identifying as other ethnicities. The university has gained popularity among students, with over 12,400 admissions facilitated through its programs.
