Western Kentucky University (WKU) was established in 1906 by the Commonwealth of Kentucky. This public university is located in Bowling Green, Kentucky, and offers a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Originally founded by A.W. Mell, the university's roots trace back to 1876. It was relocated to Bowling Green in 1884 and renamed Southern Normal School and Business College.
