Types Of IELTS Exam

Mainly, there are two types of IELTS exams, however the listening and speaking sections of both the exam are exactly the same. The difference lies between the writing and reading sections of both the tests.

How To Register For IELTS Exam With IDP?

Online Method

1. Visit IDP IELTS India Official Website.
2. Click on “Register For Test” located in the navigation bar.
3. Select one of the available options- Computer Delivered IELTS Pen/Paper Delivered IELTS IELTS For UKVI Life Skills
4. Computer Delivered IELTS
5. Pen/Paper Delivered IELTS
6. IELTS For UKVI
7. Life Skills
8. Select for your test type– IELTS Academic or General Training for IELTS.
9. Select your desired location or city from the given list of available test centers
10. Now choose a suitable and preferred date for your IELTS Exam from the list of available dates. Also, select the desired time slot as well.
11. An application form will appear in front of you. Fill the form with the required details.
12. Now upload a clear and colored copy of your passport in order to complete the IELTS exam registration process with IDP.
13. Clear your IELTS exam fees with different available payment methods given below. 
14. A confirmation mail/ SMS will be sent to your registered phone number or mail for acknowledgment.

Book an online date and time slot for your speaking test, if you fail to do so an automatic allotment will be provided to you and you have to abide by it. 

Offline Method

Another option is an offline method to register for the IELTS exam by directly visiting your nearest IDP branch or referral partner. A photocopy of your passport ID is required for the registration of the IELTS exam via IDP and a signed and dated declaration.

How To Register For IELTS Exam With British Council?

Online Method

1. Visit British Council IELTS website.
2. Select the “Register For Test” Option.
3. Now choose test type, available dates, test location, and so on as per your preference.
4. Fill up your personal information in the form that appears in front of you.
5. Give your registration details.
6. Upload a clear and colored copy of your passport.
7. Select the list of colleges where you want to send your Score Report.
8. Review your given details before making payment.
9. Pay IELTS exam test fees.
10. After payment, candidates can take the printout of acknowledgment.

Another method for applying IELTS exam with British Council is by directly visiting the nearest British Council Office. One can download the online form or fill the application directly at the office. Make sure to bring all the required documents for the IELTS exam application.
